C.B.’s Special ·
C.B.’s Pizza is the perfect spot for visitors and locals. With a varied menu and a friendly atmosphere, it is easy to feel at home at C.B.’s. Over the years, I have had more than my share of meals here and I feel like somewhat of an authority on what they have to offer.
First of all, let’s talk pizza. With a choice of thick or thin crust and a myriad of toppings available they can whip up just about anything that will make a pizza lover happy. On my list of favorites are the Hawaiian (Canadian bacon and pineapple) and the California Classic (sundried tomato, roasted garlic and feta). Since it is my usual Friday night haunt, the garlic chips (we vary the toppings) also are a regular staple. They have more than 25 toppings available, so you can personalize your pie.
If you’re a soup lover, C.B.’s offers two different soups daily. From the heavier winter cream soups to the lighter summer choices, like Carrot Ginger Bisque, this is where they excel. The Broccoli Cheddar and Chicken Noodle reign at the top of my list.
Every week, there have Mexican Thursdays and Fishy Fridays. The Mexican food at C.B.’s is wonderful and I must admit they have the best homemade tortilla chips around (somewhat of an addiction for me). Nearly every Thursday, I have their Authentic Steak Burrito (mixed with rice, beans, cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomatoes and served with chips and salsa, which is an ample portion and totally delicious. They also have a veggie, chicken or pork version, but honestly, I am stuck on the steak.
Fishy Fridays features C.B.’s Fish & Chips (three beer-battered and fried filet of cod served on a pile of fries with homemade caper tartar sauce and malt vinegar). Pair it up with the Clam Chowder and you’ve got a winner to start the weekend.
C.B.’s also has an extensive selection of burgers (regular, turkey or veggie), sandwiches and great appetizers. My personal favorites apps are the zucchini sticks and the jalapeño and cream cheese poppers. The menu is extensive, covering a wide range to please most everyone’s palate. The have some Italian fare like lasagna, custom calzones, chicken or eggplant parmesan on pasta and spaghetti (with or without meatballs), as well as more than seven different kinds of salads. Their sandwich selection includes the club, meatball sub, Philly cheesesteak and Greek Gyros.
Good food and good times — that’s what it’s all about at C.B.’s.
