“I was setting up to capture this great image of three sisters sitting and watching the fireworks in Incline Village,” says photographer Chris Talbot, TalbotImages.com, of the cover image. “As soon as they released the first warning shot, two girls left and went to the beach. Then, with the lone girl still sitting on the pier, the first big grouping of multi-colored bursts happened … I was so happy that it all came together. I looked down and she was walking thru my 30-second exposure. There goes my shot, right? No, the beauty is that she had stayed long enough to create a ghost; not as she walked for 15 seconds through the frame but it was the 15 seconds that she sat and watched our beautiful display that was burned into the sensor.”  Photography by Chris Talbot, chris@talbotimages.com.
