Olympic Valley bustled with yogis, athletes and musicians from July 14 to 17 as they experienced the 2016 Wanderlust Festival. While vendors displayed everything from crystal gem jewelry to the hottest in yoga and festival garb, yoga practitioners of all types sampled health food products and made their way to the numerous and diverse classes being offered at the event. How many downward dogs can a yogini do in a day? Apparently a lot. There were hula-hoop and slack line classes, hikes and speakeasy talks, yet yoga classes ruled the day.

Three yoga classes a day was a bit intense (each class was an hour and half) and it was a yoga festival after all. Meditation helped balance the intensity. Noah Levine led a beautiful meditation that was deep and inspiring followed by Jaya Lakshmi and Ananda chanting a mantra for prosperity and abundance. The delightful Justin Michael Williams gave a meditation workshop for Type A people and Bryan Reeves offered an engaging workshop on relationships after high winds nearly blew the tent off the mountain.

Beats Antique offered a wild theatrical evening performance and the upbeat indie band Magic Giant serenaded the tram on the way down the mountain. And there was more twisting, holding, breathing and sun salutations imaginable led by some very talented teachers. DJ Tasha Blank had the whole village dancing with her early evening set and was a highlight of the Wanderlust Festival. | wanderlust.com
