Spec Tennis, developed by South Lake Tahoe local Nate Gross in 2016, is holding instructional clinics at Kahle Community Center in Glenbrook, Nev.
Spec Tennis is a racquet sport that is played on a pickleball court, which is half the size of a tennis court. Players use a paddle and a low-bouncing tennis ball.
“The learning curve is small. … Many players are able to rally the ball back and forth on their first or second time playing, due to the smaller court dimensions, slower ball and a less powerful paddle that is 9 inches shorter than a tennis racquet,” said Gross in a press release.
Spec Tennis can be played indoors and outdoors. The Lake Tahoe Spec Tennis Club was recently formed and is open to everyone. | nate@spectennis.com
