Destination Hotels

Resort at Squaw Creek

Venture onto the 18km of groomed trails at Resort at Squaw Creek for a quiet refuge from the crowds of Olympic Valley where the views of the mountains are spectacular. The trails are just outside the door of the resort to enjoy between spa appointments, a visit to the skating rink and dining at one of the restaurants.

New name | The Resort is expected to announce more information about changing its name in early 2023, according to a spokesperson. Following the renaming of Sq**w Valley Alpine Meadows ski area to Palisades Tahoe in September 2021, the Resort announced that it, too, would remove the racial slur from its name.

Guided tours | The resort provides guided, one-hour cross-country tours on its Nordic track led by a nature guide and takes guests through the groomed trail system. The cost is $10 per person, plus equipment rentals.

The resort also provides Sunset Snowshoe Tours for guests every Friday. The family-friendly snowshoe tour takes guests through the snowy valley and ends at the resort’s outdoor fireplace where they can enjoy hot cocoa and s’mores. The tour is complimentary for lodging guests and snowshoe rentals are available.

Sledding | Enjoy a day of sledding on the designated hill beyond the Resort chairlift. Sleds and snow boots can be rented at the Nordic Center.

Ice skating | Glide around the resort’s outdoor ice rink with a view of Palisade Tahoe’s six peaks. Rentals for figure and hockey skates, as well as helmets, are available.
