Built in 1996 by Dick Bailey, Whitehawk Ranch Golf Club is carved from the natural terrain of the Mohawk Valley and is nestled on the eastern slope of the Sierra. There are seven streams that meander through the tall pines, cedars, firs and quaking aspens, creating ponds and waterfalls that contribute to both its beauty and challenge. Whitehawk is ranked as the 12th best public golf course in California.
The experience of playing Whitehawk really begins as you drive to Clio – home of Whitehawk.
Toughest Hole
After the modestly long Par 3 3rd hole, the course presents its most formidable challenge – the Par 4 4th hole. This No. 1 handicap hole requires a good tee shot, which will still leave you with a long iron or wood to a relatively guarded green. This uphill hole requires long and precise shots from start to finish.
Signature Hole
18th Hole (Par 5) offers spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. From the three hawk tees, this hole plays 528 yards and has a stream on the left side of the fairway cutting across the fairway just before the green. A tee shot that carries to the first set of bunkers will entice the strong player to go for the green on his second shot.
Amenities
Whitehawk was outstanding practice facilities, which include multi-level grass tees, Titlest range balls, putting green and practice bunkers.
