Halloween eve storm brings 8” of powder

The Oct. 30, 2016, snowstorm brought snow up to 8” at Boreal and Mt. Rose at the higher elevations with lots of fresh powder at resorts throughout the region. The combination of rain and snow meant a few harrowing hours for travelers as Interstate-80 was shuttered due to the conditions.
