Join the Diamond Peak Ski Team as it honors the Norse god Ullr (pronounced ull-er) at the 10th annual UllrFest on Feb. 1 at Diamond Peak Ski Resort and on Feb. 2 at The Chateau. The celebratory weekend includes a torchlight parade down the slopes, bonfire, party and live music on Friday and a gala dinner with dancing and auction on Saturday.
On Feb. 1, come dressed in your finest Norse attire. Ullr was an excellent hunter, skier and skater and is regarded as the patron saint of skiers. Buy raffle tickets and Ullr hats at the Base Lodge Deck starting at 3:30 p.m. From 4 to 7 p.m., there will be Ullr barbecue and drink specials. From 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., enjoy live music at the Loft Bar. The torchlight parade on Show-Off and the bonfire will begin at dusk around 6 p.m. Round out the night with a costume contest and the raffle at the Loft Bar at 7 p.m.
On Feb. 2, the fun continues with the Ullr Dinner & Auction at The Chateau in Incline Village, Nev., from 5:30 to 11 p.m. Enjoy dinner, dancing and live and silent auctions. Tickets are $100 per person, $180 per couple or $900 per table of ten.
Proceeds benefit Diamond Peak Ski Education Foundation, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide a year-round program to develop an athlete’s skill, grit and integrity, and to inspire and empower participants to achieve their personal goals in athletics and in life.
