Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care rescued its first bear cub of the season: a 6-month-old cub that was burned in the Tamarack Fire. Cubs are usually named after the location where they were rescued.
Tamarack has severe burns on all four paws. In addition to pain medication and fluids, his burns are being treated with Manuka honey to provide additional pain relief and assist in the healing process. Tamarack is resting in a big enclosure with food, water and space to move. His paws are already showing some healing progress, but he has a long way to go.
Donations are needed to help with Tamarack’s care and medical expenses. | ltwc.org
