As we roll through September and the new moon moves in Libra, the symbol of balance in the zodiac – we also must seek balance within ourselves. After a summer of working hard, it’s time to remember to play hard, too, so head down to the Tahoe Biltmore and get ready for a night of dancing and fun with five DJs from near and far.

Fort Knox Five comes all the way from Washington, D.C., bringing a seamless mix of live instruments and electronic beats. Their signature Fort Knox sounds incorporates infectious grooves that effortlessly move from funk, reggae and hip-hop to prime time beats & breaks. Their unique DJ style has proven irresistible to clubgoers worldwide. Fort Knox Five’s music has been featured on major compilation, films, television shows, commercials and video games. Most recently, their music has been featured in “FRINGE TV” show on Fox and video games Tiger Woods 2009 and Facebreaker. Their most recent album, “The New Gold Standard 2” features four new Fort Knox Five songs along with new tunes from their Fort Knox Recordings label mates.

The UK-based duo Psychemagik brings out their diverse mixes that paint the story of two talented and passionate guys. Some blatantly show that Psychemagik can absolutely dominate a dance floor. Others, like their guest mixes for the Test Pressing podcast, are gorgeously composed psychedelic experiences, which give you an idea of the depth of their record collection. Psychemagik made their first significant appearance on an edit of Fleetwood Mac’s “Everywhere,” and since then they’ve gone on to appear on many original productions, remixes and edits, as well as playing regularly at major festivals, events and clubs around the globe.

Local jack-of-all-trades Zeb Early also takes the stage. Heavily influenced by Memphis-style, crunk hip-hop including Three Six Mafia and 8 Ball & MJG, Early’s style showcases his Southern roots while adding in reggae acapellas, classic R&B and rock ‘n’ roll sensibility. When he’s not spinning beats, Early fronts the 70s throwback group Mama’s Cookin and is lead guitar with Peter Joseph Burtt and the King Tide.

Local bass heavy heavy-weight Chango also joins the line-up bringing the same mix of beats that he’s used to help foster the growth of a growing Tahoe electronic music scene since 2002. Through throwing parties, mingling with regional artists and hosting a show on 101.5 KTKE, Chango has been an integral part of keeping Tahoe dancing. Ground$core rounds out the scene for the night also bringing the smooth Lake Tahoe beats.

Put on those dancing shoes and give yourself the night off. Grab your favorite September-born friend and celebrate the transition into fall.
