A weekend snowstorm brought more than 1 foot of new snow to some Tahoe ski resorts by Dec. 14, all amid a new shutdown order that went into effect in California on Dec. 11.
Ski resorts are allowed to be open during the new restrictions; however, travel is prohibited, and hotel and lodging are closed in California. Visit covid19.ca.gov for information on California restrictions and nvhealthresponse.nv.gov for restrictions in Nevada.
Capacity will be limited at most ski areas and most will have limited or no day tickets available at this time. Advance reservations are required for nearly all services, with some also requiring reservations for passholders. As well, most resorts are not accepting cash for any services.
Mask and distancing are required in both California and Nevada.
Read our 20th annual Tahoe Downhill Ski Guide for more information on the 2020-21 ski season and what to expect at Tahoe resorts, and always check current regulations in advance before every visit.
