The Sundown Drifters craft authentic Reno country-bluegrass

The Sundown Drifters | Sebastian Zeron

The Sundown Drifters are a real Americana band from Reno, Nev. Rooted in classic country-bluegrass, they’ve been known to add the ole’ not-so-standard standard to round out any given set with a contemporary take on a timeless sound.

The band is led by singer and harmonica player Dusty Miles alongside Chris Beucherie on doghouse bass, Michael Tilton on electric guitar and Derek Smith on percussion. You may recognize these Biggest Little City alt-country connoisseurs from previous bands such as Dusty Miles and the Cryin’ Shame, The Lazy Eights and The New Harvesters. They’re sure to get the crowd movin’ and shakin’ before the occasional, full-throated singalong. The Sundown Drifters perform on July 18 at 7 p.m. for Tunes on Tap at Alibi Ale Works in Incline Village, Nev. | @sundowndrifters
